New client & a new website for ARBC

It’s been a while since we did an update on our blog, so one is due. We’re keeping busy here at Port 80, with several projects on the go. We recently acquired a new client: a company called Make a Difference, or MAD for short. They are a community interest organisation based in Milton Keynes, UK. They had 2 websites designed by a third party, but wanted to gain greater control over the content. Port 80 was approached to rebuild both websites in order to provide a more robust content management system for them. Both sites were originally coded in .Net, but were rebuilt by Port 80 using the popular Drupal CMS. Now, MAD can more easily edit and maintain all areas of their sites and are very pleased with the end result. See the 2 rebuilt sites here:
buszy.co.uk and mad-uk.org.

In other news, we have just relaunched a website we built for one of our first ever clients back in 2008. ARBC is an experienced carpenter/joinery business, and the original site was set up to promote sales of their garden and indoor furniture. However, in the intervening years, ARBC’s business has evolved to focus more on wood carving and also on the production of DIY furniture restoration kits. The website always generated a lot of business for ARBC, so the owner was keen to make better use of it. In addition to freshening up the design, we created a custom-made, dynamic order form that provides users with a real-time order cost estimate, including postage fees, and promotes the wood carving aspect of his business by offering it on any selected product that can be carved. The revamped site went live just this afternoon, and we hope it will bring in lots of new sales for ARBC. Check out the new site here: http://arbc.co.uk.
